Tyr Game Tactical Wiki & Database

Comprehensive combat database for Stoke Games' tactical vehicle shooter. Master all 18 light, medium, and heavy tanks, calculate exact shell damage, and execute asymmetric vision ambushes.

Quick Combat Briefing

What is Tyr Game?

A free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter on Steam by Stoke Games. Matches emphasize positioning, spotting mechanics, and unique vehicle abilities.

Additive Damage Math

Flat buffs add to base cannon damage first; same-type percentage bonuses pool linearly without compounding before shell multipliers apply.

Asymmetric Vision

Enemy radar can detect your tank while remaining invisible to your optics. Breaking line of sight starts a 7-second spot cooldown before you go dark.

Combat Roles & Tactical Deployments

Mastering the interaction between armored anchors, mobile skirmishers, and deep infiltrators governs competitive arena control.

Vehicle roster count and base stats (HP, shell damage, penetration, top speed) are sourced from the Tyr HQ community vehicle database, not from official Stoke Games documentation. Values reflect Early Access builds and shift between patches.

Frontline Fortresses & Anchors

Heavy platforms like Atlas and Fortis lead objective captures. Hull-down angling at 30 to 45 degrees doubles effective plate thickness and absorbs sustained enemy barrages.

Combat Ammunition & Ordnance Matrix

Documented Tyr shell types from the Tyr HQ ammunition database. Multipliers apply to true shell damage before the enemy defense chain.

Standard 1.00x

Standard Shell

Baseline firepower with no damage penalty. The reference point for all other shell multipliers.

High Alpha 1.20x

High Explosive (HE)

1.20x damage multiplier with fixed penetration and no other penalty listed in the database.

Siege Core 1.20x

Gargantuan Shell

1.20x damage multiplier with much worse accuracy, trading precision for punch.

Range 1.30x

Momentum Shell

1.30x damage multiplier, but only after the shell has traveled 200 meters.

Control 1.10x

Unstable Shell

1.10x damage multiplier with a restricted max speed while loaded.

Asymmetric Detection & Vision

Tyr uses one-way vision checks, not symmetrical detection ranges. Stoke Games has not published exact distances, so the documented mechanics are described qualitatively below.

Two Minimap Circles

A dotted circle shows your spotting range; a solid circle shows your detection radius. Enemies inside the dotted circle can be spotted by you; enemies inside your solid circle can spot you.

Bushes & Concealment

Driving into a bush shrinks your solid detection circle, forcing enemies to get much closer to spot you. Light and medium tanks are generally harder to spot than heavies.

Breaking & Keeping Spots

Firing from a bush temporarily expands your circle. Spots last through a 7-second cooldown after line of sight is broken or distance is gained, so coordinate pushes before that window closes.

Frequently Asked Tactical Questions

Answers to frequent gameplay, vehicle balance, and mechanical questions, verified against the Steam store page and the Tyr HQ database.

What is Tyr and how does combat gameplay work?

Tyr is a free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter developed by Stoke Games, launched into Steam Early Access on September 2, 2026. Players pilot specialized treaded and hover tanks across competitive maps, utilizing asymmetric vision, modular tech tree components, and unique vehicle abilities.

How does the damage calculation formula work in Tyr?

Outgoing damage begins with base cannon damage plus flat component buffs like Duplicator (+5) and Shell Charger (+7.5). Next, all active percentage buffs add together into a single pool before being multiplied by your loaded ammunition modifier (such as 1.20x for High Explosive shells). Enemy defense components then reduce the damage in sequence.

What is asymmetric vision and how does spotting work?

In Tyr, vision is asymmetric: you only see an enemy when you or a teammate has actively spotted them, and the same applies in reverse. Two minimap circles track your spotting range and your detection radius; bushes shrink your detection radius, and breaking line of sight starts a 7-second spot cooldown.

What are the best tanks for beginner pilots in Tyr?

Ranger is widely considered a top starter medium tank due to its balanced 1375 HP, 195 shell damage, 70 penetration, and 46.5 speed. For heavy play, Atlas offers a forgiving 2050 HP pool with 360 alpha damage.

What ammunition types are available in Tyr?

Documented Tyr shells include Standard (1.00x), High Explosive (1.20x), Gargantuan (1.20x with much worse accuracy), Momentum (1.30x after 200m of travel), and Unstable (1.10x with restricted max speed).

What are the minimum PC hardware requirements to run Tyr?

Per the official Steam store page, Tyr requires Windows 10/11 (64-bit), an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1070 or RX 580, DirectX 12, and 4 GB of storage. The recommended spec raises RAM to 16 GB and the GPU to a GTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT.
